Stonegate Player Guide & Support

The essential rules for building a party, exploring the dungeon, reading status symbols, fighting effectively, and carrying progress between Apple devices.

Quick start

  1. Recruit up to six adventurers at the Training Hall.
  2. Arrange your formation: slots 1–3 are the front row; slots 4–6 are the back row.
  3. Enter the dungeon, map each corridor, and fight turn-based battles for XP, gold, and loot.
  4. Return to town to recover, equip the party, and apply earned level-ups at the Inn.
  5. Depth 1 is free. A single Full Campaign purchase unlocks Depths 2–6.

Status symbols

A badge on a hero portrait reports the most important current condition. Open Camp → Party Status for a plain-language description of every adventurer.

Sword + upward arrow
Ready to level
The hero has earned enough XP. Rest at the Inn to apply the level-up.
Skull
Poisoned
The hero loses 1–3 HP at the end of each completed combat round until cured. Poison persists between battles but causes no damage while exploring. Use an Antidote, cast Purify, or visit the Temple; the Inn does not cure it.
Moon
Asleep
The hero cannot act until they wake.
Raised hand
Defending
The hero is defending for the current combat round.
Red mark
Knocked out
Use revival magic or restore the hero at the Temple.

Dungeon fundamentals

Exploration

Move one square at a time and turn to inspect branching corridors.

A cold draft or shifting stone can signal a secret wall. Keep pressing against a suspicious seam to reveal it.

Each depth has its own expedition rule, shown when you arrive. Bosses remain defeated after they are slain, so returning through a cleared guardian room does not revive them.

Automap

Green marks your party, and the bright tip shows the direction you face. Grey marks explored paths. Gold marks doors and stairs.

The automap records passages as you explore them.

Combat actions

Choose an action for each conscious hero: Attack, Spell, Potion, Defend, or Run.

Spells cost MP. Potions come from the shared party pouch. Defend lasts for the current round.

Run asks for confirmation. If the escape attempt fails, the monsters take their round.

Formation

Slots 1–3 form the front row and draw most melee attacks.

Slots 4–6 form the back row. Heavy melee fighters lose effectiveness there, while fragile casters gain protection.

Potions, loot, and equipment

Shared party supplies

Healing Draughts restore 2d8+2 HP. Blue Aether Draughts restore 2d4+2 MP to a conscious spellcaster. Antidotes cure poison, Phoenix Feathers revive a knocked-out hero at 1 HP, and Smoke Bombs attempt to escape combat.

Restorative potions can be used from Camp or during combat and are consumed only when the chosen hero can benefit.

Deeper rewards

Battles, chests, caches, and secrets can award gold, potions, or equipment. Later depths use their own loot tables and can provide stronger rewards.

The Trader expands its stock after you reach deeper floors. Some of the strongest Depth 6 relics can only be found in the dungeon.

Comparing gear

Equipment is marked Upgrade, Sidegrade, or Inferior for the current party. Armor and off-hands may improve defense, Max MP, spell power, healing, or critical chance.

Magical gear can be valuable to a caster even when its physical stat is lower. Sell Inferior keeps sidegrades, class-specific choices, and gear for empty slots.

Dungeon discoveries

Optional discoveries can help or harm the party. Across the campaign they include HP or MP recovery, damage, gold, potions, equipment, and hidden shortcuts.

Choice prompts pause briefly before accepting input so rapid movement is less likely to select Run or a chest action by accident.

Town and progression

Inn

Restores HP and MP, then applies every earned level-up. It does not cure poison or restore knocked-out heroes.

Training Hall

Recruit adventurers, manage the roster, or spend gold on Guided Drills that add XP.

Temple

Cures poison, restores knocked-out heroes, and offers Ashen Benediction for 75 gold.

Trader

Buy supplies, sell loot, and equip weapons, armor, and magical off-hands. New stock appears after reaching deeper floors.

Party Status

Inspect each hero’s condition, stats, equipment, XP, and next level.

Reorder Party

Place durable melee heroes in front and fragile casters in back.

Settings

Open How to Play, purchases, iCloud Save, audio, controls, and support links.

Ashen Benediction

At the Temple, choose Receive Battle Blessing for 75 gold. The purchase always activates Ashen Benediction for the next three battles, increasing party accuracy and defense. One charge is used when each battle begins, and the Active Blessing card in town shows how many battles remain.

Purchases and saves

Full Campaign

Depth 1 is free to play. One purchase permanently unlocks Depths 2–6.

Purchase or restore from Settings → Full Campaign. On another iPhone or iPad, sign in with the same Apple Account and choose Restore Purchases.

iCloud Save

Stonegate stores progress locally and can synchronize a private copy through iCloud.

Use Settings → iCloud Save to review the device and iCloud parties before choosing Push or Pull. Push replaces the iCloud copy; Pull replaces the copy on that device.

Troubleshooting

The Full Campaign will not load

Confirm the device is online and signed into the App Store, then reopen Settings → Full Campaign. If you already purchased it, choose Restore Purchases using the same Apple Account.

My other device has different progress

Open iCloud Save on both devices and compare the displayed parties. Push the party you want to keep, then Pull it on the other device. Read both summaries carefully because Push and Pull replace a save.

The app closes or behaves unexpectedly

Close and reopen Stonegate, restart the device, and confirm iOS is current. If the issue continues, include your device model, iOS version, game version, dungeon depth, and the steps that caused it.
