Privacy Policy

At NovoBuild, privacy is a default state, not an afterthought. We build tools that minimize data collection and respect your autonomy.
1. Overview
This Privacy Policy applies to the novobuild.net website. Individual apps have their own specific privacy policies available in the Legal Center, as data collection practices vary by application.
Our core philosophy: We only collect the data necessary to make our products function, we do not sell your data, and we do not use tracking cookies on our marketing site.
2. Data Collection on novobuild.net
This website is a static informational site. We do not:
- Use marketing trackers (like Meta Pixel or Google Analytics)
- Use targeting cookies
- Collect personally identifiable information implicitly
If you email us for support, we will have your email address and any information you provide in the correspondence. We use this solely to resolve your issue.
3. Small Apps Worth Knowing (Discover)
Our editorial publication at /discover collects data only when you explicitly provide it:
- Newsletter: if you subscribe, we store your email address, the consent statement you agreed to, and the signup date. It is used solely to send the publication's email and is never shared or sold. Every email includes an unsubscribe path, and you can unsubscribe at any time using the form on the Discover page; unsubscribing stops all further email immediately.
- Developer submissions: if you submit an app for editorial consideration, we store the details you provide (name, contact email, app information). They are used only to evaluate the app for coverage and to contact you about that submission, and are kept only as long as the evaluation process requires.
- Measurement: Discover pages record aggregate, first-party usage events (page views, outbound App Store clicks, form completions, and referring site hostname). These events contain no cookies, no persistent identifiers, and no fingerprinting — they cannot be tied to an individual.
To request access to or deletion of your newsletter or submission data, use the Data Request page below.
4. Professional Services and Client Materials
When you engage NovoBuild for a paid professional service (such as App Store Release Help), we may receive release materials you choose to share for the agreed scope: build, archive, or project output; screenshots (including of App Store Connect states); contact information; and app information. We use these materials only to perform the engaged service — reviewing your release, preparing the agreed deliverables, and communicating with you about the engagement.
- Initial inquiries: the initial release-help request asks for app and release information, public links, target timing, and a description of the blocker. Do not attach builds or include passwords, 2FA codes, signing certificates, private keys, payment-card details, banking information, or production-user credentials in the initial message.
- How materials are shared: materials are transferred only by methods agreed with you in the engagement. We never ask for or accept Apple ID passwords, 2FA codes, signing certificates, private keys, banking credentials, or production-user credentials.
- Account access: where direct App Store Connect access genuinely helps, it is least-privilege, role-based access that you grant and can remove at any time.
- Who can access materials: access is limited to the people (and, if ever used, vendors) who need it to perform the engagement, and materials are protected with reasonable security measures.
- Deletion: we delete working copies of client materials, and revoke or remove any granted access, within 30 days after the engagement and its included re-check close — unless a different period is agreed with you, or law or ordinary business-record obligations require retention.
- What we keep: minimal invoice and contract records are retained as required for accounting, tax, and legal purposes.
You can ask us to delete working client materials earlier; we will honor the request where feasible given the state of the engagement. Use the Data Request page below or email us directly.
5. Third-Party Services
Our hosting provider may log standard server requests (such as IP address, user agent, and timestamp) for security, reliability, and performance. These logs are not used by NovoBuild to track individual visitors.
If you pay for a professional service through a third-party payment processor, that processor receives the payment and billing information you provide and handles the receipt. NovoBuild receives transaction confirmation, amount, basic billing details, and a transaction identifier for fulfillment and recordkeeping, but not your full payment-card number. The processor handles that information under its own privacy policy.
6. Your Rights
Under GDPR, CCPA, and similar regulations, you have the right to:
- Request access to the personal data we have about you
- Request correction of incorrect data
- Request deletion of your personal data
Please see our Data Request page for instructions on exercising these rights.
